ParticipantHi Folks
I was at the above machine today and it wont go into a spin, it just sits there distributing but refuses to go into a spin, sometimes it speeds up slightly as if its trying to go into a spin but then it slows down again.
I have tried another motor and it is draining the water ok, I also checked the pressure switch and that seems to be ok as well, is there a good chance that its the PCB on this one. All the other progs seem to work ok.cheers

Have you put it through a ‘Last Error Detected’ test. It often just tells you they forgot to close the door but it can sometimes point you in the right direction particularly if it is a tacho fault.

thanks for the quick reply jim. I haven’t put it through the last error test but I will make that my next step. I should have said that I have checked the wiring from the motor as well.

I have seen the odd loose tacho magnet cause this fault.
If the Last Error detected check comes up as Door Not Closed then set the machine to rinse & spin, let it go through until it stalls then run the test again.

had one recently, if it is the same it has a variable spin dial?, knob was cracked at back so even though it looked like it was pointing to spin it was actually set to no spin!, would ckeck those dials/wiring first before going for module

thanks for your reply guys, it was a brand new motor i had in stock
that i tried in it and the wiring checked ok so that was making me discount a tacho fault. it doesnt have a control for variable spin speed (I wish it was that easy for me). I will try your suggestion about the last error code jim, i’ll let you know how I get on, thanks guys.Brian

Have you meggared the machine? An earth fault on the heater can cause this fault.

Hi all
just thought i’d give you an update on the above, went back to it today armed with a new pcb, I had already meggered the machine which was ok, however when I arrived I put it through the last error detected test which didnt show anything useful, only a “start button pressed with door open” error, so before I fitted the new pcb I decided to try reprogramming the old pcb and after putting it through the programming sequence it worked perfectly ok 😀 so after thouroughly testing it and everything being ok I have left the customer to try it for a week to see if it carrys on working ok, fingers crossed. Once again thanks to all for taking the time to reply to me, cheers guys.Brian
