Ours seems to have decided to die in the middle of a wash. And I can find nothing in the user manual about unloading a machine full of clothes and water when the power has gone – only when it has power.

Essentially, we lost most of our power this morning and found the main circuit breaker off, so we had no immediate idea of which house-circuit was the cause. However, missus realised the last thing switched on today was the Hotpoint. Unplugged it from main socket and we were then able to get the power back on. Changed the 13amp fuse in Hotpoint plug and it was OK for a few seconds before tripping the CB again.

So it seems we need a new washing machine. In the meantime we’d appreciate some advice on emptying the old one. Without causing a flood…

Found I’d posted the following info here in 2006:
    Bought March 04
    Serial number 27157053

Thanks very much – that was the only way I could think of. Just hoped the experts had an answer that would be less hassle 😀

i use various ways. outlet is favourite

on that machine you have no front filter so not a lot of options

if you had bought a bosch most have a small drain hose for this type of problem
