    Dear All

I have a two year old Hotpoint Ultima WMA66 1600 spin. After about 15-20 mins of washing it drains and then displays ‘on’ and doesn’t do anything else. Pressing any buttons results in 3 beeps except cancel which switches the machine off. We have tried checking the hoses for kinks, making sure the water pressure is ok, different programmes and adjusting the feet.

Am I programming it wrong, any ideas?

    Thanks

    Dave

p.s. Does any one know how to get the error code please?

Possibly not heating – temperature rise not detected within the prescribed time limit. You will need to check the element and the thermistor (sensor).

Do nothing yourself without pulling the plug first.

Or you can check in repairs@ukwhitegoods.co or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.

    Re: hotpoint wma66

    hi all,

Ive just cleaned out the drain pipes (half full of scale and slime) and tested thermostat (22k ohms cold) and element (30 ohms). Found ocassional spike across element but otherwise 0 volts when washing.
One wire from element goes to pcb other wire goes to something with an air hose(pressure sensor?) could it be either of these?

p.s. trains i can fix but washing machines…….

    Dave,
Thermistor and element readings are acceptable. The power feed to the heater is from the control board and from the pressure switch. Assuming that the machine stops filling, you can accept that the pressure switch works. This points towards the control board…. Dry joint at relay perhaps? If not probably a logic failure and board will have to be replaced.

    Good luck, power off…….

    Hi all,

Relay energises fine manually and no dry joints/burnt tracks so guess it must be pcb prob. Thanks for all the help.
