Hello All,
seems like my problems are coming thick and fast at the moment.
quick question, i have been getting residual soap powder left in the drawer after each wash.
I’m fairly certain I put the hoses back in the right order after the first bearing change years ago as I don’t remember the issue before and put them back as I found them after the recent bearing change a couple of months ago.
I have tried a couple of different powders.
I have not changed anything recently and soap drawer is always cleaned and left open to dry
Have removed the whole unit, had the lid off and checked all galleries clear.
inlet filters on hot and cold supplies cleaned out and hoses flushed into a bucket and free flow.
the hot and cold are supplied off a y branch at the isolation valve.
do you think it might be a solenoid issue and a case of firing them all into a bucket to see if one has failed?
any other ideas please?

JezIs the detergent left completely dry or has some been flushed into the drum? When say you are using a Y connector I assume you are using cold fill only then?

the powder is ¾ gone but a sludgy mess remains like there is not enough oomph to wash it away.
yes cold fill only and has been for as long as I can remember so not a new thing.
strange.What is the water pressure like from the two hoses? The flow through a valve can become restricted due to breakdown of the internal rubber diaphragm in the valve. Is the problem the same if you set it for a very hot wash as it is for the coolest washes? The problem can also be worse in winter due to the extreme cold temperature of the water causing the powder to clog.
It does it with hot washes as it’s still there on the maintenance washes at 90c
i have flushed both hoses into a bucket and the flow seemed good before the OP
we wash at 30c mostly
I haven’t checked the hoses curled up as they would be behind the machine for flow in case they are breaking down so I’ll do that.
the drawer surface is quite rough after all these years so I might try fine sanding it smoother to see if that makes a difference.Limescale blockage in the air break where the soap dispenser hoses from the valves push on. Remove hoses off the dispenser nozzles ( remembering which one goes where !!) and very carefully push a very thin flat screwdriver through each of the nozzle jet holes of the dispenser. Seem to remember this was a fairly common problem.

I’ve had the whole drawer out and the top off to clean and check it all runs clear. But I will look again to be sure.Hi Iadom, we have a water softener fitted and checked working ok so soft water.
I’m now thinking rough soap drawer stopping the powder flowing away and now more important how much powder we are adding!
today I checked hose flow from shut off valve and whoosh no problems there on either hose or both together.
I have checked the flow out of each of the solenoids through the hoses to the draw and whoosh all ok.
I have taken the lid off the drawer with the hoses attached and the flow seems ok. Some holes squirt more forcefull than others but flows seems good from all and cleaned out again just in case.
we use Aerial powder so according to their dosage for soft/medium water @6kg gives 150ml. 100ml = 65g according to box so 150 is just under 100g.
Daz is 40ml more for a 6kg.
now if 100ml does upto 5kg then 6kg not so far off so I think I should save some powder as 150ml does up to 8kg. Also soft over medium water should reduce that some more so I’m thinking try 65g?
the drawer should still wash all that away though shouldn’t it?
Thanks!It should wash out all of the detergent but as mentioned icy cold water is not as good as hot water at flushing out the powder. Also need to make sure the powder is stored somewhere dry.
Hi, powder is in utility room cupboard with machine, tumble dryer and hanging rails. Humidity mmmmm.
time to look for some storage containers too then.
