ParticipantI have a hotpoint utima wmd940 and now and then find small pools of water under the machine at the front. I have removed the plinth at the front and found some water in the bottom lip of the plinth, it would seem there is no filter or pump at the front (on the right) as it is covered by a red cap with a hand symbol and a line through it (indicating there’s nothing behind it). Any idea’s to where the water is coming from…?

Leaking from the detergent drawer most likely. A very common problem, the swing out type of drawer has had a few modifications to cure such leaks. In most cases changing the drawer assembly is the best option.
There are a few alternatives so full model number and both commercial code and serial number would help.

Thanks for that. I’ve pulled out the drawer where the powder etc goes and there was a well of water in the softener part. I’ve cleaned it out and will look again on the next wash.
It is a WMD940K.

See how it goes on now that you have cleaned it.
Still need full serial number and any other numbers on the rating plate or on the label on the back to fully ID. 😉

Hi there, I have the same washing machine with the same problem. I have just had a new kitchen installed and don’t
want the wood to start rotting so have decided to bite the bullet and replace the defective part. I noticed you mentioned there have been several modifications to the draw to stop this leak. My question is, how do I know if I m buying the latest modified version of the draw and not being palmed off with a suppliers old stock. Or alternatively, can you recommend a good supplier that I could trust ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Full model number WMD940G (UK).R
Serial number 004089687

Excuse my stupidity. I didn’t realise this forum was linked to a store web site when I asked my question 😯
I have sent an email outlining my requirements.
Thanks again for your help 😀Best regards
