    Hi all.

I wonder if someone would be kind enough to help me with this one please. I have one of the above machines to look at. I don’t usually work on Hotpoint so have no idea on fault codes or diagnostics here but basically what happens is that the door will lock when the start/pause button is pressed, the time counts down but nothing happens. No fill, no motor action & if put onto spin, no drain either. I have had the pump off & the impeller is free running. The machine is just over 2 years old & has no previous history of faults.

    Any ideas/suggestions greatly apprieciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    TSD.

If you do find worn brushes it will be a first, 3 phase motor in these. 😉

No diagnostics to speak of but fault codes are in the Error Codes thread.

As jonnieboy says motor wiring is a possible cause.

And don’t touch that heatsink until it’s been off for ten minutes :plug: .

Hi guys. Thanks for the info so far. There has been no fault code displayed to the user, just the door locks, time counts down normally but no fill, no drum action, zip! If there is no diagnostic like Lux Group product for example & there is no fault code known to have been displayed, any help is appreciated.

    Keep the ideas coming people.

    Cheers.

Have you checked the motor electrically and the wiring to it?

As usual with these ‘Indesit’ machines in most cases if nothing obvious is found then the main PCB is likely to be faulty.

    EMW will test/repair these modules.
