Got up this morning to find one of the RCD’s on my breaker box had tripped so no lights or power downstairs etc.. after some faffing about i found it was due to the washing machine which was running when we went to bed last night , basically as soon as you plug it in and turn on the plug switch the main rcd trips , i already tried it on the other rcd circuit and it tripped that one too so its defo the machine , i’ve pulled off the top and had a careful poke about but can see no obvious issues , mains lead and plug look fine… bit peed off as it’s only just two years old… any suggestions would be appreciated.

3 main suspect part the mains lead and filter where it enters the machine the main drive motor or the heating element to check if the element or motor remove mains plug put insulation tape on the spade connects unplug 1 at the time to see if rcd trips if it stops with 1 of these unplugged you have found your problem hope this helps you
