Product number for this machine is 56802.
The door lock will make all the noises of locking and the light comes on. cycles goes through ok but you can open the door at any time and the machine will continue to operate!!!
One terminal is burnt on door lock connector and does anyone know how this could happen?
the other problem I have is that the lock C00254755 listed for the series of WML520 models is different to the one fitted. the one fitted to this unit snaps into front panel and is held in by plastic lugs not screws. it is smaller but has the fitting for the green plastic strip for emergency release. can anyone advise if C00254755 is a replacement for this or what the correct part number is

Yes use that one, ive replaced loads wiith the one that screws on the smaller one causes loads of problems, JJ

Yep you will be fine the 755 is the direct replacement is a far better lock and just fit two screws, Recommend you cutoff the plug and crimp connectors to all three wires, its a common issue that the plug has 1 contact inside each one and it does not make a good connection with the blade in the lock, it it overheats and melts.
newer models are fitted with connectors with 2 sets now to prevent this.
