ModeratorCustomer says that it seems to trip when on fast spin but not all the time????
Machine lightly used, motor brushes and comm appear to be in perfect condition, everything checks out fine electrically, no signs of any wiring harness faults.
Ran it on spin a couple of times without any problems at all.
I am guessing that it can only be motor related, anyone else had anything similar?

Think there is a modified software download for that issue and believe it or not it cures the problem if I am thinking of the right model.

Is this the 1600 brushed motor ? Iv seen this quote a few times, none recently though most were 2010 machines , i believed at first it was caused by carbon buildup around the brushes and causing the spark to track to earth, however I have also had to change the motor on occasion to resolve it.
If the motor is clean and no buildup if replace it

Someone on here must have access to indesit servicenet, yes I was on the right track was a bit of an issue with WML560, it was initially blamed on carbon dust around brushes/comm. Have changed motors before and just bounced, the new software file did cure the bouncers.

if its run ok for this long it may have had the eeprom file mod done, have you checked the moulded plugtop for insulation faults on the neutal to earth as i have had this cause the tripping on spin quite a few times.

That fault is different. That was causes by the module trying to use the half field and full field on the motor at the same time, this would result in the motor com destroying its self and the brushes. Would normally occur with in the first few months of use.
That was resolved by reprogramming the board but more often or not a new board was needed.
Seeing the age of this machine and assuming its been in use for for over a year with out it destroying its self if just go with the motor.

Yes Bob, checked the plug and filter, customer ( another friend of mine) has not had any call outs on this machine, fault only appeared in last couple of weeks.

Have had WF series machine where there was a tiny short just where the motor wiring enters the end frame of the motor. That was intermittent too. You don’t find things like that without taking the motor off and really looking closely. Have also had same on Hoover. The fact that tripping is intermittent and occurs on spin is the pointer.

A fault like that would be more likely to trip as the machine went through distribute or build up to spin when there is more movement, this one only trips at full speed and then not every time.

As did both those on which I found this fault. I think the Hotpoint was an ACC motor. The damage to the insulation is so tiny it’s not easy to see. And the wires as they pass through the metal of the end frame have only their own insulation between them (IIRC, there’s no grommet or plastic insert) and the earthed metal. It is at high speed that you get the sort of high frequency vibration which makes things move tiny distances like that. You’re thinking of your experience with wiring looms rubbing on concrete.

Is it the aluminium motor I have changed a couple of these tripping when the mid field kicks in.
