Wondering if anyone can help with this one
The washer is overfilling and the prewash light flashes then the unit shuts down.
If anyone can suggest any ideas i would be very grateful
    Thanks, Ralph

Have a look at page three in the “known error codes” thread at the top of this forum Ralph.

Iadom has posted a helpful guide that relates to most of the WMA/WMM models which may help ?

The first thing I would check is the sump/pressure switch air bell housing, I have had something as small as £2 coin sized piece of paper covering the outlet from the sump to the pressure hose air chamber causing this fault.

prewash flashing indicates didnt fill to level in 2 mins, check pipes etc
but in you case i would go for sump/pipe blockage or u/s press sw

Pretty common fault this, sadly not documented. Probably caused by spikes on the mains, in my experience it happens in houses where hubby is a DIY enthusiast. The machine has been spiked while writing to the eeprom, this causes the program to become corrupted.
Rewrite the eeprom (or replace it) problem will go away.

Are you sure, the WMM39A does not have the ‘Indesit’ type module/eeprom as far as I can see. ??
