RE: Hotpoint WMM65 1600 Spin
All of a sudden it wont do anything else but have the hot water constantly streaming through it. Thought it would stop but to no avail.
Called in a repair guy (not our usual guy as he moved somewhere) and he said we need a new washing machine. I am reluctant to think a new washing machine is required
Tried turning it off etc but as soon as it is plugged in the hot water keeps running.
Any ideas what may of caused this? or where to look to get it fixed?
Dont mind doing it myself as i have previously took the whole thing apart
Any help appreciated

What happened to your Candy washer/dryer ?
If it starts to fill as soon as it is plugged in then its possible you have a main power board PCB failure.

Not a fault I have seen on these earlier machines, more common on the later Indesit stuff.
A thorough visual check of the whole of the wiring harness for any chafing or damage would be the first step, with the mains plug removed of course. 😉
If you have ‘had the whole thing apart’ you may have left some wiring loose.
Very expensive PCB’s, might be worth taking both the control and power boards out and sending them to EMW to test first.

Participantno, nothing was left loose as the dismantling was done a couple of months back and the thing worked fine up until Tuesday.
i’ll double check though, hopefully if it is the pcb a soldering job will fix it, keeping my fingers crossed
thanks for the help, wil update

Very unlikely to be a bad joint, more likely the be a failed triac on the board.
QER do list Hotpoint WMA60 series machines which are the same basic machine as this one.
