Hotpoint WMPF843 problem

Had several of these or similar models recently, where after F5 has shown and the pump has been cleared the machine will not reset.
Whichever program you select the clock just counts down that program with the pump running.
If you select spin and let it finish, it seems to reset the machine and work normally after. But just wondered if there is another way of re setting it so I don’t have to sit around for 16 minutes!!!

Not familiar with Hotpoint but isn’t this a case of resetting the pressure switch?

i.e : remove pressure switch hose to reset switch to empty, reconnect hose then fill drum with 1 litre of water. Then switch to drain and life returns to normal again?
