Hotpoint WMT02 fault

I have a Hotpoint WMT02 washer and the problem I am experiencing is when the washer is on E Program (Non colourfast cotton) the machine seems to run for about 20-30 minutes then just stops and both the Program End and Door Locked lights come on and the machine just sits there. You then have to turn it off and leave it to reset before turning it back on again. I have tried different wash cycles and these seem to be ok, its just this one that is causing problems. Machine fills up and empties ok and also spins. Does anyone have any idea about the error codes on these machines and what the problem is?

This would suggest a temperature specific fault. As the sensor should detect all temperatures, this would point towards a computer board fault – not detecting a 40c wash.

I would suggest trying other programmes at different temperaures to confirm this, if it is specific to the 40c wash it may be time for some pro help – computer boards do run to a bit of a price.

Check Directories and Repairs@ for a UKW engineer in your area. If you are going to investigate yourself, pull the plug first :plug:

Thanks for that Penguin, it seems to have “fixed” itself for the time being, maybe it was a glitch or something weird. I’ll see how it goes for the time being and if it falls over again I’ll let you know.
