Please enlighten us as to where you obtained the information (wiring diagram) ? 🙂

As for the drum/bearing change, it depends on the version fitted as you will discover in….. months 😉

I think you are missing the point chatty.
We give information here freely 24/7, however what you don’t understand are the safety and legal ramifications for supplying too in depth information for the general public.

Remember, the public forums are viewed by thousands of people a day, some have more abilities than others, hence the reason why we have to err on caution and use the saftey first banner.

Hope that clears that up for you.

theres no such thing as a 30 second repair – it takes longer than 30 seconds to pull the machine out find where its plugged in and to test it for electrical safety (you did do that didn’t you???)

as for you stripping an appliance down without you noting the wiring – thats an engineers worst nightmare to sort out!

and as for the bearing change the wm range of machines are a bearing change, the wma/wms/wmt tubs are a rear drum change – indespoint may of misread the model number in your post before he replyed

come down off yor horses ,you all know as well as i do that 95 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the wiring is push on connectors that will only fit one way.The only problem i had was the two spade connections on the pressure switch and the control board.once i found the colour codes it was done in seconds .time yourself and see how long it take to push on four spade connection’s. Just for good measure I even put the machine onto test mode ,to test the components,(I bet you do that don’t you ?????) Not bad for a beginner ,I am pretty sure the bearing’s will last as I made a rig up and pressed them in on the outer race ,after all I didn,t want to cause any brinneling to the bearing,s before it had even run.Cheers

    Hi Chatty,

Took longer than thirty seconds because you didn’t note the wiring and, as you’ve just pointed out, no, not all the wiring in any appliance is push-connectors. There’s often a few there that can trip you up. In this case, had you made a mistake it was bye-bye PCB.

Just FYI, any appliance engineer will perform a functional spec test which often reveals more than relying on flaky software diagnostics. I am sick of reminding people that fault codes and test programs are not a magic bullet, they do not in any way substitute the human factor, by a long way as on appliances as they are, at best, rudimentary.

However, in the end it’s your call what you do. But we have to consider not only your safety but also the next 100 or so people that may well read this thread and are perhaps not quite so able as you. It’s not just about one person or one person’s ability as this is a public forum and I’m sure you can appreciate that we do not wish to place anyone in harm’s way.

Ok I admit I misread the model number and that they usually are rear drum change and on some occsions a drum support change too depending how bad the shaft of the support is coroded.

Its BRINELLING named after the brinell hardness test ,put false brinelling on web search and educate yourself on tribology.I can’t divulge any more info it might be harmful.
Anyway the wife has got me on the dishwasher now ,has anybody got a wiring diagram as i have misplaced a couple of wires and the machine is now licking the plates clean.
