    Good afternoon all,

Could anybody advise on the above problem?

The drum is seized solid, and the release mechanism appears to be the cause.
Pressing the release button has no effect, and I have tried unsuccessfully to free it.

I wonder if there is a good way of releasing the drum without damaging the drum or torx tools etc.

I’m not sure if the flaps on the drum are jammed open, which would have the same effect, as they are not visible.

Perhaps one has to strip the m/c completely to rectify… I have little knowledge of this or other top loading washers.

    Best wishes,

    jontymox

Removing the heater usually reveals what is stuck in there as that is the usual place clothes jam up as a rule. Then you may be able to fish around and drag out whatever is stuck through the heater aperture.

    Hi Martin,

I’ve had a look through the heater aperture; however, all clear.

I reckon it is the release mechanism, so will have to investigate further.

    Kind regards,
