Hotpoint WMUD942GUK washing machine

Hi,
It trips the fusebox as soon as its switched on.
Meggered motor heater suppressor checked door lock and wiring.
Tried it in another socket no joy.
It belongs to an old lady on her own doesnt seem to have been used much.
Any ideas welcomed

I know it’s a long shot but try disconnecting every wire from module then meg it.

as soon as its switched on from the socket or as soon as the on button is pressed ?

so that rules out suppressor

since motor and heater are top of the list disconnect and see if it still trips

meggered the machine to death not even a flicker off the needle at 1000 volts.
I did however disconnect the motor and it didnt trip.
its one of those brushless motors.

since we know its an earth fault see if the motor has an earth connection and disconnect that then try it
if it does not trip then it must be motor but how your megger did not see it, well don’t know

problem is here we don’t know how these machines boot up. it may be that with the motor disconnected then other components are not turned on.
Did you try it with the heater disconnected ?

going back tomorrow i will disconnect the heater first.the motor didnt appear to be earthed
