The brushes you need are C00196554, don’t appear to be in our STORE but an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you sorted.

    Thanks for the help tonight.

However, not going to go ahead with ordering new brushes. After reading tonight, alot of people have also said it is more likely to be your main control board, which when i found the price, i realised would cost me more than i paid for the machine.

So not going to pay for brushes incase they’re actually ok and its the control board stopping the washer starting.

    Thanks for help though

A lot of people, I can’t see any reference in this thread to your pcb being at fault. If you are not going to try £20 worth of brushes after being advised to do so by someone with over 45 years experience in the trade then so be it. :rolls:

There is a lot of misleading rubbish out there, spouted by people who have no idea what they are talking about, do take care. 😉

You are however letting the side down, our reputation for northern savvy and thrift has taken a bit of a knock. 😥

And with an Oldham, Ntl/Virgin Media IP you could well be near enough for me to have a look at it for you as well. 😀

Sorry fella had no intention of doubting your expertise.

I were struggling to tell if the brushes were f*cked or not, coz they are actually smooth like you said. I thought it was going to be easy and obvious to tell by the length of them. Was actually kind of hoping when i said they are 5mm in length that your reply was going to be they are f*cked.

Maybe i could upload a picture of them?

If you’re pretty sure its going to be the brushes ill give it a go. Just didn’t want to spend the money (considering we only paid £80 for the washer in the first place 3 weeks ago) on the off chance that its them, because if its not, the main board is more than i paid for the washer.

So how would the brushes being knackered stop the washing machine from thinking the door is locked?

Theres some cheap replacement brushes on ebay, for less than £10. Is it worth me ordering a set of them do you think seen as we’re not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure?

    Thanks again

If it was the brushes, would it not take in water when i tried to start a cycle, and then decide its just not spinning?

No it will not even lock the door if the brushes or the wiring to the motor is faulty.

Would not advise cheap brushes, if you can post up a pic of the ends of the brushes and possibly one of the comm, which is the part the brushes rub against I could give you a better idea.

You were ripped off 3 weeks ago to the tune of £80 so I would think very carefully about spending another £10 on it if I were you.
