I went to a Hotpoint WT721 Washer as the customer was reporting an F-08 fault halting the machine. As we know this is usually heater or heater relay on the board.
I put the machine onto a spin (to check if motor and pump were ok) and it pumped, turned slowly (distibution) for a while, the stopped with F-08. Then nothing worked to remove the flashing fault code, short of actually unplugging the machine.
As the heater circuit was not called into action at all, I find this puzzling. Does F-08 indicate anything else other than heater and heater relay?

    Thanks for help.

The electronics will self test and throw up an error code for heater faults even when set to spin.
