Need some help with this one. the bearings are shot (only 18 months old) and according to suppliers the wt741/1 doesn’t come as a whole tub unit (bearings, drum half’s, spider etc) only as separate parts however the wt741/2 which is a sealed unit obviously does come as a whole unit, so will the sealed unit (wt741/2) fit in it’s predecessor (wt741/1)? Thanks in advance.

Hi, no you cannot swap the drums for a sealed unit, unless you start changing hoses, pumps, wiring & other bits too

According to hotpoint with the info from the model and serial number this machine has a split drum but when i went to see it, it seems to be a sealed drum!

I’ve not yet work on a machine that has a sealed drum so i’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} but the lack of brackets on this tub would lean me towards saying a sealed unit. can someone tell me for sure?, many thanks

Deffo a sealed drum, its the lack of screws not brackets that gives it away. 😉

Check the commercial code. 42411 is screwed drum…46351 is welded drum.

The Indesit Company will do the whole repair for £99.85.

    hey guys
just a quick heads up the welded tub assy has the same inner drum and spider as the split tub so if you get any welded drums that are leaking or holed you can always cut them open and keep the drum and spider for split tub jobs might save some pennies in these tought times
aye indeed im a scotsman lol!!! 😀

i think what he does mean is that if you do actually get to change a welded tub, its worth splitting and keeping the inner drum before you throw it away?

its the 30mm i believe i would need to check on monday
and yes its exactly what i meant any franchise lads out there who didnt know this could easily gather a free stock of inner drums might get there completed jobs up a bit which means more wages for them 😛
