ParticipantCustomer complains m/c is now starting programme as soon as on/off button pressed and without her pressing start button.
Has anyone come across this before ?July 15, 2010 at 5:01 pm #325388iadom

Buttons are very weak on these, could be stuck in or plastic bits broken behind facia.

if the start button was pressed in then you would not be able to turn it on
these machines dont work if another button is stuck in
also is it not a start /cancel button?July 19, 2010 at 6:07 pm #325391allan73

Went to this on saturday, when I got there m/c worked perfectly so I took facia & display board off and examined them.
Board looked fine, start & on/off buttons a bit gunked up but otherwise ok so i cleaned around the buttons.
After testing on/off and start I left so I’ll see what happens ❓August 9, 2010 at 11:32 am #325392allan73

Were you able to easily cancel a programme? Did you select a variety of different programmes? When it was washing away and you selected the Start/Cancel button did it immediately drain and then shut off?

Is it same symptom exactly? (Don’t rely on customer as judge of that.) Or maybe customer is a devout cleaner and won’t leave the front panel alone leading to water/cleaning agents getting in behind buttons?
Alternatively, could be a dodgy tactile switch or two on the fascia board, especially if conditions are damp.

Was’nt one of the cleanest houses Mike, if I scout around I might have a display board off a scrapper I’ll take it with me if I have.

These boards seem to be shockers for suffering when there’s even a slight hint of moisture, we’ve even had to use a hair dryer on brand new machines to get them to work…you could try that?
