    Hotpoint WT741G washer. 2006.

Testing this machine and noticed the water level on the wash is very low. Tried other programmes and they are low too. (‘low’ meaning clothes are wet but the water level barely comes through the drum holes) Seems to work and heat absolutely fine; I’m waiting for the heater to pop but several cycles later and it’s still working OK. To add, I’ve swapped out several pressure switches that I have but no difference. Rinses fill OK. 😕

Am I fussing unnecessarily – or is this very low water level right? I seem to remember having this fault before but fitted a new pressure switch and all was OK. But fitting four different ones today haven’t made any changes.

    Any thoughts?

    Steve.

I had a problem with an indesit IWE91281 with the same fault, I changed the stupid wee blue pressure switch and it made no difference, I ignored it and a week later the heater melted a hole in the tub and it was scrap.

Perhaps the pressure switch is doing what it was pre-programmed to do by the electronic circuit board. And so the fault more likely associated with the board?

    Some extra info on this…….

Noticed that the machine doesn’t fill in the main wash compartment – just fills on the ‘prewash’ side then goes straight on washing (and heating!). new module from EMW fitted today – no difference. Swapped pressure switch and valve for new – still the same. Going to try the loom continuity before going mad.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Steve.
