Hi, have a problem with my hotpoint wt940 not recognising that the door is shut so it won’t start wash cycle.
Started with door error then all display flashing quickly on and off. Checked pcb and capacitors c17 and c20 were bulging at the top so soldered replacements on which solved the flashing display problem. All seemed fine, I can hear door lock click, but the lock symbol on the display doesn’t light up so the washing machine brain doesn’t know it’s safe to start. The interlock clicks on and off after two minutes. Any ideas? Can it be faulty interlock if still locking correctly, or am I looking at a new pcb?
I saw a post about checking center interlock connection has continuity to neutral pin on plug, but mine has continuity to live pin.

How can I trick the machine into thinking the door is closed by bridging the interlock connector. This would let me check if the lock symbol appeared on the display.

Check the Motor Brushes. When they get low they give that fault.

Thank you Scoopsdas, swapped a brush that was low for one off a spare motor I had, hoovered some carbon dust from it and all working!

Did this really solve the issue? I can’t see the connection, but would be happy if it is the solution. Also, Hotpoint don’t seem to sell brushes separately, where did you get them from?
