ModeratorWeird one this.
It fills up and starts to wash perfectly silently but after 20 to 30 minutes it makes a ‘knocking’ sound, but only when turning clockwise when viewed from front. This is when doing a wash action BTW.
It sounded to be around the pulley area but having changed that it is still the same.
Nothing loose that I can see, sus units appear OK. ❓Any suggestions?
Jim.

I wondered about that but could see nothing amiss, strange why it only occurs after a period of time, only in one direction and only at wash speed though. :con:

What is the frequency of the knocking in beats per drum revolution :?:. Could even be a bearing. Is it a welded tub :rolls: ?

35mm bearing, 7kg split tub.
I have only heard it once, just a steady click/knock noise at approx one second intervals.

Probably best to tell them to wait and call you again when/if it gets worse. ( I bet they’re not youngsters with three kids.) You probably won’t have more than a couple of months to wait. Or it could disappear as mysteriously as it arose. Just one more thought. Have seen bearing housing come loose in tub shell in an old model.

He is an old bloke who stands over you all the time, :rolls: going back tomorrow for another look.
Seen many bearing housings loose in WM/WD models but never in WMA type drums, all of them caused most noise when on spin though.

If it’s the bearing, there’ll be no way of knowing till you get it out. Had same on an old Servis once. That was an old git standing over me too.
