    the back of the dishwasher is blistering ..please could anyone help me …I have’nt noticed a smellof burning so what could have caused this….

    Nothing to worry about. This is a Bosch produced machine so is of much higher quality than current Indesit made Hotpoint appliances.

    The black stuff is just soundproofing which does tend to look a bit unsightly after a few years, they all look like that. 🙂

    many thanks for your comments …but would you say the blistering is caused by something overheating…and is it safe to use…if not due to heat what would cause this blistering…once again many thanks

    Not being fully au fait with the chemical reactions involved I cannot give chapter and verse. Save to say that the black material is bitumen based, and does naturally become brittle and flaky with age and exposure. The heat generated by the machine will have some effect as well.

    I can assure you that we see many thousands of these machines and after a few years all of the backs look a little worse for wear, nothing at all to worry about.
