    Hi,

We have inherited a Hoover Optima Model Number RD4B001, however the seal was cracked and broken. We have ordered a replacement but it seems impossible to get the lip on the seal in behind the plastic lining at all – there aren’t any screws – is it even possible to change the seal on this model?

    Thanks in advance

    Tim

If there aren’t any screws it’s a complete door.
Not heard of anyone succesfully changing a moulded in one.
You could if it’s only cracked fill up the seal in the damaged area with white bath sealant, will harden over a couple of days and usually does the trick

    Thanks spimps

the cracking was pretty bad and we had taken the old seal off already unfortunately. Will try and silicone the seal in or something – seems strange that they would sell a part that can’t be fitted but I guess that how they make their money?

the seal can be fitted it just needs to be prised open a little on the liner to get it to fit, its fiddly but it willl fit, hoover have a tool to do it but its not realy needed.

Yeah we seem to have got it on with some prising with a knife – did a fair bit of cosmetic damage on the way though and we can’t quite get the bottom edge in fully but it is working for the moment.
