How do I even use this?!

Hi there all!

My husband and I have just moved into our first place together but are struggling with some of the older appliances in the house.

I’ve read the manual but still cannot work out for the life of me how to turn this dish washer on.

It’s an Ariston Advantage af 250, and there seems to be no start button (thts what we’re used to with dishwashers). We’ve tried to get it running a few times but if anyone could help that’d be great!

It seems silly and simple but any advice would be ace.

The large oval button alongside the red light is the on/off. Is it plugged in and switched on at the wall socket?

The second button from the left looks like the start button though?

It’s plugged in and on – we’ve turned it on and the red light is on too. But after that we’re not sure how to make it work, which just sounds stupid I realise hahah 🙂

Are you getting any noises at all, the first thing every dishwasher does is drain out?

The main program control knob, I think, is one of those retractable jobs where you push it to allow it to pop out? Try turning that to start of any of the different programs.
