UNPLUG!!!! take the top off if you have one, take the side panels off and you should be able to see the pump…do you need to look at the drain pump or the main circulation motor/pump?

Normally , the plastic base appliances (i.e The machines that have a plastic inner tub base ) have a metal plate under the machine to access the workings . As Richardable said please power off before attempting anything.

Plus…should you have to tip the machine in anyway , it would be best to empty as much water out of it as possible.

As Paul says, this one has sheet steel covering the base.
On its back, watching you don’t crush any of the pipes, remove base via 2x torx20 screws or on the newer ones the plate is just nibbed in.

Greg/Paul/Richard…Many thanks for your comments, I am not sure if it is the pump or motor, the water does not drain away at the end of the wash cycle so i assume it is the pump. Cannot see if it is blocked or not. The drain pipe and sink outlet appear to be clear, the filters had come loose so it could be that food or something else could have got into the pump and it is blocked. Is there an easy way to check and clear it?

if you select any program on the d/w you should hear the drain pump running for about 2 mins…if you can get the drain hose into a bowl you should feel the hose vibrate as the drain pump drains off the last residual water…if a) you cant hear the pump working or b) the water trickles out then its a pump problem.

Normal culprits are small fragments of crockery or shards of glass – Has anything broken in the last couple of weeks ? You’d be surprised how small an obstruction can cause probs. Follow richards advice on checking drain pump operation – If you can hear the pump start , it’ll be an internal/pipe blockage . If you can’t hear the pump , maybe just a very faint humming when you get your ear down low to the front door , it normally indicates a blocked drain pump.
