ParticipantIs (Beko)pronounce BEEko or BECko?
Is (Sebo) SEEbo or SEBBo?
Is (Amica) AmEEca, AMYca or maybe AIMica?
What about (Fagor) either FAYgor or FAGgor perhaps?Someone asked me the other day if I fixed Hoomark? (Homark)?
I’ve even heard the name of (Gorenje) as GORANGE, GoREGKNEE? and GORENNIE?
….and the one that gets them all going has to be my favourite (Miele) asking about MEE’EL? MEALY? MYele?… most with a terrible posh accents naturally! 😈

yip ive had the Bosch one – you arrive at property usual council scheme with loads of crap in the front garden – you think to your-self if this is Bosch its knock off or they are dealers .
after you navigate the long thin hall-way which is normally littered with usual items – prams – strimmers – and pile of other stuff ordered off tv shopping channel . you arrive at the kitchen … and yes its a beko but hey they think its bosch so i just roll with it .
normally i advise them to call bosch regarding the poor quality and to ask for an extended warranty ..
double lol ?

Beko pronounced Beekoh up here in yorkshire, believe the company that owns them is called Arcelik – could have been interesting pronunciations if they had used that name.As for Bush washers I wonder if the lady in question was too embarassed to ask you to look at her Bush :rolls:

I was chastised at a Miele training course for calling their brand Meela, its supposed to be pronounced Meeluh,
I believe Beko should be pronounced Becko & Gorenje, GorenyaWhat i’d like to know is a washing machine masculine or feminine, most people refer to it as “she”, any thoughts?

A German friend of mine said recently that the word Miele would be pronounced ‘meel hay’ with the ‘h’ being very short and almost non existent. SHE said the ‘e’ on the end would never be pronounced as an ‘aah’ sound in that position in a word. :rolls:
