ModeratorWent to do an ISE install this afternoon, noticed a couple of slight DIT marks on both sides, but thats another story.
Switched on with customer watching, set to wash and it filled up but there was no motor action. 😥
Cancelled and drained. Switched off at mains plug and waited until door had unlocked. Switched on and set to Spin, but Wash light came on. Pressed and held Start/Cancel and all lights went out. Waited till door released and tried again with same results. Pressed Start/Cancel and ON/OFF a couple of times and at one stage had all ten neons flashing at the same time. 😯
I managed to clear this and decided to see what happened if I let it progress, so switched on, set to Spin, pressed S/C button and again the Wash light came on, machine then filled to normal level and started to do a wash action ❓ Repeated this on a Drain cycle and that was exactly the same. I could not get the machine into a Spin or Drain cycle, although it will drain if I press and hold the S/C button.
Fortunately a quick call to Star Supplies and a replacement was on site within 45 minutes. 🙂

When all lights flash Jim it means your in engineer function test mode you need to toggle through the functions till it fills after the spin test then the next push on the s/p/c button should return it to normal operation.

Hi Sean, I did have a good read through the tech info when I got home, wouldn’t have looked too good in front of customer. I did spot the info on the test mode re ‘all lights flashing’, however according to the manual you can exit the test mode by simply switching the machine OFF. You don’t need to toggle through them.
Tech & spares Manual. page 16, item 12.
In fact I actually unplugged the machine for several minutes on a number of occasions but every time I switched it back on and selected spin it came up on a wash.

Went back today to install the replacement machine. The second machine replaced temporarily last week was a display model that also had very slight DIT.
Machine arrived with all external packaging intact. I removed this and instantly noticed some brown staining on the door seal lip through the door glass.
Fortunately the machine is in the garage and the customer is an “I’ll leave you to get on with” type of person. 8)I tried to clean the seal with a damp dishcloth, the picture is the seal after I did this. I then found an Oxywhatsit, heavy stain spray and using that I managed to clean the seal.
It is the first time I have seen this on a machine but it does not look nice when you first open the door. Difficult to ID the marks, possibly oil based.Jim.

Oh dear, just had this customer on the phone, machine worked fine for last few days then yesterday went on the blink. 😥
Customer reports that machine appears to over fill then goes into drain whilst still continuing to fill. Machine is in gargage with proper secure standpipe ruling out syphoning as a cause.
Going to it after lunch. I do hope it is not the pressure switch that is faulty, just checking the box of spares that I have not had to touch yet, found that it does not contain a pressure switch, perhaps that is something that could be added.
With an apparent module fault on the first machine and now this, she may not think the machine is great for much longer. 😳

The pressure switches are extremely reliable Jim, it’s a pcb failure IMO. However if you change both, return the bits to Sean as we can test components under load and investigate further than you can in the customers home.
We have about 1.25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} failure on the PCB’s (we are awaiting the test results to eliminate customer error) and are moitoring them carefully. Sean can give instant tech help if any of you suspect the PCB whilst attending a call, we do have adequate stock.
We intend running through the fault codes and self test proceedure on Saturday 23rd at our Manchester meeting.
There’s no need for pressure switch to be a stock item, we have no recorded failures at the moment, again we do have stock if required. The van stock is only based on the common failures (from experience of all models) and I expect very little use of it during the 1st year.Kevin

I actually spoke to Sean whilst at the house. I had already decided that the PCB was at fault before I asked him to ring me. It energised the fill valve on all settings inc drain & spin, even when I pressed the Start/Cancel button the valve was still energised even though all the neons where off. I removed the plug from the pressure switch and valves still had power. Even when I tried to enter the diagnostics, all it would do is fill.
Due to the urgent need to sort this one, I dashed down to Star Supplies and removed the full console & facia from the DIT machine that was due to be uplifted ( thank god it was still there). It was Sean who suggested this & also changing the pressure switch at the same time, as a belt & braces fix. The displaced parts have been refitted to the machine at Star Supplies but I have not reconnected the harness and have written ‘module faulty’ on the back of same to make sure it is not re used.
