    Morning all

i have a Bosch series 8 heat pump tumble dryer (WTX88RH9GB). I’m currently using the drawer to collect water, but would prefer to use an outlet hose. I don’t have a sink or drain in close proximity. However, with some additional pipe work it could flow into a drain pipe/gutter. With this in mind, I’m wondering what distance the dryer will pump water vertically? Can it pump vertically the full length of the hose minus the u-bend (so approx 1.7m)?

    many thanks

    Thanks Don

what would be the implication/risk if the pipe was over 1m? Pump failure?

more likely the pump would fail to discharge the water in the given time and the machine would flag up a drain error

why do you need to pump the water 3 feet above the machine height ?

    Hi Dave

I can see a a route where I could put an overflow pipe from inside the garage into the garage gutter. The dryer is currently sat on the ground, from the top of the machine to the gutter height is approx 1.5m. So if the dryer was at stacked height, I would still need just over 3 foot to get to gutter height. It was just a thought, But I certainly don’t want to damage the dryer in the process.

beware if your putting dirty water into a gutter as it may be connected to a surface water drain thats meant to be clean water. it is an offence to put contaminated water in the wrong drain

you may well have to fit a saniflow type unit to pump the water away. since its not being used for a toilet you can use one without a macerator
