ParticipantWatching a 1970s documentary I saw a shot of a window display with a Hoover washing machine for sale. It was a Hoover A3236. It’s very sad to concede how much pleasure I received pausing the video and gazing fondly at it. A simple washing machine, white rocker switch and orange and grey control knob with a top spin of probably 700RPM.
These washing machines were already well established when I started in the trade in 1976.
Anyway I have the exact price. The year must have been around 1970-73 (ish)
No prize, but much kudos to the closest guess.

I think Don might be the closest here, IIRC I remember selling Hoover T5004 twin tubs then for about £200 so I would say the 3236 must have been £250>

I would suspect somewhere around the £265 area. My wages in 1972 when these came out was around £24 per week, gross.
The 3314L was about £210 I recall, and there was more moving components in a twin tub.
Probably a mile out.
