Oh shucks guys! 😳
By the way,
In 1967/8 we used to sell the first every Indesit machines in the UK at that time (2 models) for 39 and 49 guineas.
…..and in 1968/9 the first Hoover Keymatic (3224) sold for £92.10s.00d…if produced today that Keymatic would cost £950 😯

One or two machines had that set up. the Hotpoint 1600/1830 models had a silver flap over the soap dispenser, top left, but they sold for more than £59.00

Good Heavens Goose, that is really spooky 😯 I was referring to a short time I was working as a salesman for Barnes & Avis (later taken over by Rumbelows) in Reading at the time.
And yes, the 2 models had a dispenser flap on the left hand side of the top panel (like the later Hotpoint 1600). The cheaper model just had an on/off rocker switch and the other had 2 further switches (no spin & gentle action) 😉

I hope your employment lasted longer at Barnes & Avis then mine did at Rumbelows ( about 6 weeks) Long story 😳
But in one respect it was the best job I ever had because while I was working there I got talking to a Hoover engineer who called to arrange uplifts on some faulty machines, Liked the idea of a free van and applied to Tidas/ Creda. Nearly 30 years later still at it. Have to pay for my own van now.

O.K. let’s put us all out of our misery.
This is scanned from the Freemans Catalogue, Autumn/Winter 1970. Sorry the descriptions and print may not be too clear. The Hoover Keymatic 3223H is £143.10.0 (being £143.50) The 3314L T/Tub £99.00
This catalogue is fascinating. A treat in 1970’s kitsch.
