ParticipantI am doing some research ahead of purchasing a new fridge freezer and have been steering towards Liebherr, after advice greatfully received here.
We had previously owned a Bosch frost free which required a few engineers visits because of a freezing fan. We gave this away when we had the kitchen extension as it was so noisy and had integrated fitted (Neff, very nice but a bit cramped for freezer space).
We are now on the cusp of buying a second FF to store beer 😀 /wine/pop and frozen foods.
I am curious to receive opininions from members as to the noise of the fridges, particularly what brand they have and if they could sit in the same room when they are running. Any feedback would be appreciated.
We are probaby aiming to save for a Liebherr CUNesf 3913 or SIEMENS KG36NA53GB, if anybody has particular experience of thes two.
I am also open to ideas! The quieter the betterSeptember 22, 2009 at 5:22 pm #297718kwatt

Good call on the Liebherr.
On noise, have a read of this article about noise levels. 😉

Thanks for the reply.
I am still interested to hear how users find living with the noise of a frost free (if there is much more than a non frost freel fridge).
As mentioned our Bosch was far too noisy, even when sat the otherside of the kitchen door and would not want to make the same mistake.October 1, 2009 at 8:21 pm #297720Gerard

Decided to buy the Liebherr CUNesf 3913; awaiting delivery.

A new modified fan was fitted to all subsequent models – and loud original ones – which means the noise levels on them are barely discernible .

Delivery of the Liebherr has been put back to November… we are not desperate for a fridge but am considering swapping the order to a Siemens; any viewpoint on this? SWMBO says hang on until November and go for Siemens if delayed again… I am thinking just go for a Siemens; it may not be “the best (Liebherr)” but surely it must come close?
Stick or twist? Head says wait, heart says go Siemens if in stock. What do you do? Choices 😕October 14, 2009 at 7:19 am #297723don

DonLiebherr turned up on Saturday; very pleased as so much quieter than the previous Bosch. Looks good too!
