    Seeing the mention about Dyson and the ultra reliable products they produce!
    Who remembers the old Hoover 119 vac! wasn’t it so simple to repair went wrong enough to keep a bit of work in but anyone could repair it.
    I can’t remember if it picked the dirt up though?
    But don’t bring back the slopeing front Hoover Keymatics you use to get your hands dirty. Worked better than the Dyson by the look of it and not as garish.

    Mine used to make clicky clicky noises in my student days. We thought it was sucking away merrily. Then the belt broke, when we turned it over there was a hair grip wrapped up in all the hair round the beater bar.

    Personally, I don’t think it ever picked up a thing, but, Hey, I was a student!
