    Hello 🙂
I was just wondering if anyone else out there has a SMEG SUK92MFX5 and have been able to change the main oven light bulb?

I have done as the manual says and tried to unscrew it anticlockwise but alas it is not budging:(

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can persuade it to unscrew?

I am keen to keep the oven operational so no hammers please 🙁

    many thanks for any thoughts

Ah, the baked-on grease problem. It will unscrew, you just need a better grip. Tea towel may help – I have occasionally had to use water pump pliers to shift the glass. If you do get it off, clean the threads thoroughly before you replace the glass.

    Hello Penguin45,

Thanks for the response, it gave me the courage to attach some grips to the light bulb glass cover and try again. This seemed to do the trick and I now have the bulb out 😀
I tried using some oven cleaner overnight but it didn’t seem to make much difference. I will clean the threads on both the cover and on the oven before putting it back together.
once I get the bulb I ‘ll be able to see what we’re cooking again 😀
    cheers

Pull the plug before going anywhere near the lamp holder………
