I have a kelvinator fridge/freezer (bought it about 8 years ago) but the freezer seal has split.

Is there any chance of getting a seal for something this old?
Also the label inside the fridge part fell off a couple of year ago & i cannot find it. The manual does not mention the model number & there is no mention anywhere else. Is this going to be a problem – not being able to id the model?

    Cheers

Unfortunately it probably will be a problem 😕

Like most refrigeration manufacturers they have a plethora of models all with different styles/fittings etc. It’s highly likely you can’t replace the seal as an individual item (carefully ‘peel back’ part of the seal to look underneath it, if you can see screws holding the liner to the outer door then you’re in luck) If the seal can’t be replaced then you’re looking at a whole new door and the handle will be part of the styling which will be unique to your model.

IMO your only chance, and slim it is, is to find an engineer who’s seen a lot of these to see if he could identify it for you.

You could try posting some clear pics on here, you never know someone may be able to identify it but i wouldn’t hold much hope i’m afraid. 😕

The model number, if not on the door as Clive rightly says it should be, should also be in at the left hand side, on the wall of the fridge itself on a silver/grey sticker assuming that Candy (they own the rights to the Kelvinator name in the UK) run true to form. If it’s not there it should be on the back at the top LHS IIRC.

If it’s nowhere to be found then it was sold without warranty and you’ve no chance unless you can post a photo and someone recognises it I’m afraid.

Some of the seals are sold separately, but very few these days I’m afraid. 🙁
