Re: How to Know when Dampers Need Changing?
The easiest way is like the old timers way of checking car shock absorbers, they used to push down hard on the car wing to check for bounce.
Remove the plug, take off the top and press sharply down on the drum, if there is good resistance and the drum returns to its original position without any ‘bounce’ and there is no rough grating,squeaking noise then the dampers will be OK.
If the drum is easily pushed down and then bounces several times the suspension is goosed.
