ParticipantI have this Hoover Dyn8164 D2x 8G washing machine. It shows E03, I know it is drain problem. I tried to open the filter but funny thing is there are two parts I only can open the outside one but inside the black one is a safe so tight I wonder why they design like this, which means I have to pay to fix it. Anyone came cross this kind of problem?

ModeratorThis is a similar filter and as you can see the part that is still in is the main body which just pulls out. it must be jammed with debris

ParticipantAny chance to take it out? Using a straper?

ModeratorI try and work it loose using 2 screw drivers but you must be careful not to damage the housing as it will leak if you do
if all fails then the pump would have to be taken out and stripped to clear it

ParticipantTwo screwdrivers ? It is going to be difficult that is why I will use scraper to have a try . The housing ? You mean the white ring ? I don’t think I will damge it but the black plastic I am not sure thanks

Moderatorif you have a gap you can get a piece of stiff wire (like metal coat hanger) bend the last 5mm at 90 degrees and hook it in to pull
if all fails its not too hard to take the pump out as it can be done from underneath

ParticipantThank you Dave much appreciated. But pull the black part out ? I am thinking to use scraper to stick in the middle to turn it anticlockwise

Moderatorits only a pull now. its only debris stopping it being removed. if it is metal like hair clips etc then you may have to remove the pump to get it out

Moderatortake out the filter again. with the filter that blocked its possible that there is still some debris in the hose entering the filter from the sump of the machine. I have a small inspection mirror and use a torch to look into the hose to see if anything is there
