Is it possible that the wiring is different on the new ring? I feel that the power is generating the ring before it goes through the switch?

I have fitted the new switch again and checked and double checked that I have wired the ring and the switch as they were before but ring is still permanently live.

Could my theory be correct?
I’m not an electrician but a straight swap should have been easy enough?

Honestly from my own perspective, without standing in front of it and working it all out I really couldn’t say with any degree of certainty.

Eventually figured it out, although the replacement ring was the correct one and all the terminals were in the same place, some bright spark at the factory had changed the numbers around when they were designing it!!
