Howdens Lamona/Candy? washer intermittent failure to start

Lamona Integrated Washing Machine 1200rpm. This has a start button (three other control buttons) and two control (Settings) dials.
Recently it has developed an intermittent fault where it wont start when the program is set and the start button pressed. It fails to engage door lock or start the cycle (normally little red LED’s light to indicate success door lock/start).
Is this a faulty board (Candy 41040895 or similar?) or faulty door closed switch/sensor? or even something else?

Thanks for the feed back I examined the door lock as that was one my thoughts, but during the process of trying to find the culprit I discovered that the Start button works for some of the programs but not all.
Rotary control dial with multiple different functions. NOt sure if ROtary control or main board, more inclined to think rotary control. Will have a look at this in the next day or two
