Machine fills normally for 1st 2 fills, then stops.. if sink tap is turned on and off, the machine starts filling again !!! Water pressure is fine.. is this just a “change the Valve” job, or am i missing something ??????

A few years ago I had three or four doing exactly the same, one customer found that if she turned the tap in the garage on, the machine in the kitchen then worked fine. Changing the fill valve rarely cured any of them. They were all on very high pressure cold fill.
A good clean out of all the pipes, especially the ‘S’ shaped rubber hose from sump to fill matrix might do the trick.

After checking the sump hose is clear, clean and check the float and float microswitch. Also check the water inlet nozzle at the top of the fill matrix is not limescaled up? When limescale forms it allows to much water to overide the matrix and enter the machine via the overflow inlet thereby overfilling and tripping the water block. Venting that water block by using the sink tap clears the problem (but only ’til the next time) 😉

Ta for 1st 2 replies 😀 I’m in North wales, So limescale isn’t a factor here.. but will do as I’m told !!!!! (Asda and suchlike still sell de-scaler tho ! And peeps keep buyin it ! haha)

Ultra soft water area round here as well, I always found that very high pressure seemed to be contributing to the fault and may have caused to much water to run over into the overflow.
