HPT mistral baffle / fridge thermistor (FF72)

Hi

does anyone know what the fully open position is on these baffles (gap between flap and body at opposite end to hinge). I attended one of these and the open baffle has a gap of about 1/2 inch, is this about right?

Also do you know where the fridge thermistor is situated on these? I thought it was on the baffle assy, but there are two black wires to the motor and two white which i assume give feedback to the controller on baffle position (error EA).

The fridge thermistor is situated inside the control housing and can be seen when taking the cover off to see the baffle motor. The wiring can be accessed by removing the top cover.

By memory, 1/2 inch opening of the baffle sounds about right.

I have a copy of the service manual for this model if you need an expoded diagram or further information.

You can test the baffle motor my turning the appliance on with the fridge door open. It goes through a self test, including operation of the baffle motor.

I don’t do refrigeration appliances now but I do remember this test sequence.

From what you are describing you require a baffle motor switch, but before ordering please check that bulb in fridge has not blown, or door switch is not faulty if you require parts Try shop@

Is there any fridge magnets on the fridge door had a few with EA faults 1st couple fitted this that and the other, still same fault removed the magnets and whould you believe it the fault cleared. The baffle motor is not prone to failure.

The magnetic field of the magnets interfere with the module if the door is covered with them they cause havoc, spoke to the Techinical dept and they confirmed pity we had to find out ourselves though the hard way

Hi – I do not suspect a problem with the baffle i just wanted to know the full extent of it’s open position.

The problem is the usual freezer OK but high fridge temp. The fan is running OK so i was just checking the baffle was open (which it is) so concluded a tube blockage. It is now defrosting for 24hrs.

Surely if there is a problem with condenser cooling it will affect the freezer temp too, not just the fridge?

You dont get an EA fault if it is condensor fan , you get a warm fridsge and freezer with the sides getting excessivley warm due to the heat not getting dissipated in the condensor and anti condesation loop.

I think there is some confusion here. I did not say that i had an EA error. But that EA was associated with no baffle feedback.
