Good Afternoon Garn
If you type Hotpoint AND belt AND tool into the “search” function there are quite a few threads on the subject including the one you mention.

What a brilliant idea Paul, in fact I’ll have a word with a mate of mine on here to see if we can do an exclusive co-production. On second thoughts though YouTube shows all the world and his brother all the tricks of the trade and this one best kept stumb I reckon. 😉
But video apart……The tool slips into a slot in the base of the appliance and you hook the belt over the two metal prongs on the bar. Then you simply lower the bar with the belt getting ever more stretched, around and under the motor pulley. Once safely under the pulley then raise the tool to leave the belt seated in position. Finally unhook the bar and stuff it back in your van…………Job done pal! 😀

OK Martin Thanks For The Info
Iv Had no Trouble With The Vented Appliances.
Only With the Condenser Ones The Past Week Managed To Fit to On The job.
I had To Uplift Three In Bits To Take Home To fit Them Then I Had To Have Help 😥
I do Have a Disability To my left Arm But Its Never Been A Problem. And I Don’t Want To Uplift To Fit A Belt Again Is non Cost Effective
Any Info help I Would Appreciate

Ooooops….missed that bit. 😳
Now Indesit/Hotpoint condenser dryers are such a joy to fit belts to, so much so it’s hard to know where to begin………………a good first aid kit is a must before openening the toolbox…then a good sense of humour, patience, resolve and luck form part of the final result.
Beyond that I’ll leave it to the condenser whiz kids to help you out. 😉

both sides and back off capacitor off (hanging on the wires) drum out. fit belt onto shaft then feed drum into the belt to the side of the machine ensure that the belt is sitting on the line made by the old belt then roll the drum into place over the motor with the belt sitting correctly on the jockey pulley. fit the drum onto the front guides. refit the back then lever the rear of the drum up and into the rear bearing (a screwdriver in a rear perferation leavering against the heat appeture helps)
reassemble
sorted!!!!!!!!!!

That tool won’t work on the condenser dryer – it’s for the vented dryer – it slots into a hole in the base

I remove the 2 side panels, then remove 2 screws holding the rear of the water bottle contaner unplug suppressor remove 2 screws holding bracket to back panel then remove pin to rear bearing ease the back panel away from the drum slip the belt in and around the drum, reasemblethe above apart from side panels then remove duct and cooling fan slip belt over motor slacken the pulley removing the nearest screw i then use the the pulley along with a hook tool i have had from years ago to fit dishwasher springs, to stretch the belt, all in usualy takes about 20 mins. Some useful tips there  I did one the other week and made the mistake of taking the front off, quite a job getting everything lined up properly to get it back together.

The tool makes the job both safe and quick, I got one of these originally and then used that as a pattern to make another !
