I’ve got a customer with a TDC62P and apparently its not completing the auto dry programme? All the stats are fine including the one in the front. When I run it with a load the dry light goes out after a minute or two but then comes back on a while later which suggests to me it’s working OK? 😕

But then I didn’t stick around to see the conclusion of the cycle anyway. All I know is that I removed bits of paper and stuff that were blocking and stuck on the air inlet fan by (I guess?) some 33{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. Having removed the apparent extreme airflow problem I assumed (wrongly it seems?) that was the problem, but not so as the customer has rung me to say I’m back to square one again..

The module is the only thing left to suspect?….Am I barking up the right tree here I wonder? 😕 Should the dry neon cycle on and off? 😯

I know you will have checked this Martin, but on a few occasions I have had continuity OK readings from the heater TOC but on removing them have found one to be concave, replace kit and everything fine.

to me, that smacks of being a pcb fault

it happens a lot… theres a current thread in the public forums about it…

Dry neon should be on all the time the drum is running in a clockwise direction (from the front) the light should go out when the drum does its short reverse tumble, this is because during this phase the fan is not ‘blowing’ through the element.

As Robs says, sounds like a PCB relay fault.

Have you checked to see that the copper braided brush is intact and making good contact with the drum?

no i am inclined to say that it sounds like the stats are at fault especially the cycling stat as this can cause the heater to cycle on and off randomly 😛

The brush is the first and easiest thing to check and it’s fine!:)

The Module board it is then guys thanks, I’ll order one. 😉

As I said earlier it’s not the stats, like definitely NOT the stats. 8)

ok module may be the cause but stats can cause this aswell.thank you and goodnight 😀

How right you are Grazza, they can indeed. 😉 What I did to take the stats out of the equation though was to short out each one with a bridge. Having done that the dry light still went out so I figured the Module the likely cause. I just needed confirmation before going to the expense of buying one that’s all…Cheers pal anyhow OK? 😀

Martin, don’t forget to un-bridge the stats!!!

Just an up-date for the records – Replacing the Dryness Module C00096288 cured the problem. 😀

Having also spoken to EMW on the possibility of the module being repaired? It apparently is a no no as the problem more likely to require software reconfiguration as well as possible component changes? The former is not an option. 🙁

    Re: Hpt T/D Dryer neon?

Never understood why EMW, QER don’t repair these. The vast majority of failures that I have had on these boards is a sticking relay. cannot see any reason for a ‘software reconfiguration’ 😕

Well Jim, Tony at EMW states he can replace all the relays on the module (and there’s a total of 3 I think?) if you insist. But cannot guarantee that will cure whatever problems the board has without a full test bench evaluation. And to do that requires the relevant software in order to configure it and, more importantly for EMW, to guarantee it’s as good as new and works! 😉
