Just starting to get a few of these popping up for repair now.

As i understand it these machines use the WMA tub & drum and Ind/Merloni electronics. Are the bearing assy’s the same as the WMA with the Rubena seal, if so are these bearing / seal assy’s now reliable. Does anybody have an idea of the failure rate?

Does anybody know why Creda machines still use the WMA module and not Italian electronics. Also is the bearing assy in these (WMA) Creda’s reliable?

    Thanks

    Andy 😀

Knowing how you love your modules I would have to say that the electronics on the latest machines are the main problem area on these machines. Until last week I had not seen any failure of Rubena seal protected bearings, this machine had a drum change by Hotpoint three years ago. However it had been seriously abused, used with only one lifter in place, drum and shaft full of socks and other rubbish wrapped round shaft.

I have not yet seen a bearing failure on any recent machine under 3 years old.

Not sure how long the Creda stock will last as they are supposed to be dropping the Creda brand. most stuff under 3 years old will have rubena seals, which in the main do seem to be fairly reliable.

With the exception of pump blockages and the odd door hinge, almost all calls that I have done on recent production has been to module failures. 😥

    Many thanks for that Jim

    Very informative.

There is no improvement in the modules then! Why am i not suprised?

I expect that they still use the ‘exclusive to model’ eeprom’s?

Yep, and they are a real pain to get at through the small WMA type back panel, although the do have the hardware key socket.

I had occasion to tip an Indy over onto its side recently and found the module easier to get at from the bottom. Will be trying it on the next Merloni I come across.
    Mike.
