ParticipantHave the above machine with a blown toc in the heater box.
Did a search on whiitegoods, before I attended the job, which came up with a modified heater box, part no 1605230. The posting was in March 2006.If I enter the part no on connect it comes up with Obsolete. No alternative is listed.
Can anyone give me any info on the current status re the heater box modification please.
The link to the posting in March is

The latest version of Partfinder still shows the info pointing towards a 1605230 as the correct part but as you say it is NLA. However looking up the heater assy for the WD860 which is the same, informs you that that the heater has been changed back to the spiral type and the complete assy is NLA. They have also gone back to the thermal fuse in the sheath. The four way valve & flushing kit has been re introduced together with a metal fan blade to replace the plastic one.
I guess you will have to check it out and order the individual parts as required.
Jim.
PS. I have amended that original thread.

Is the thermal cut out in wire with sheath not much easier than that of the sensor type?
I have seen that the hotpoint in their newer W/D have changed to the original sheath one themselves.
I may be wrong but I have found them really difficult to put them in.
Is it only me or someone else had same problem
Regards

Nice one. Comes up as No Items on Partfinder, also not recognised at Masterpart yet but Qualtex/Spareslink does list that part as a special order item. 8)
I have added that to original thread.Jim.

Be careful however as this part is not a direct replacement for any machines prior to date code 54 as they will require an update to the eprom files
Nice when things are staight forward 😕 😕

I nearly made it my New Years resolution to stop soiling my hands with Indesit rubbish, I am becoming sorely tempted to activate said resolution. 👿

lol, ud make no money….
yup, on later models, the eproms diff, so thats gonna be a prob.. however, its down to the termistor i believe, and that can be swapped over
mybe, just maybe, if they designed summink that actually worked, it would be better
when was the last time ne 1 changed a bosch washer dryer fan motor?
all the need do is make a fan motor with a split pin and a proper nut on it instead of that stupid collet idea and itll be fine, but oh no
i wish i got paid the money the ppl who think these things up

I managed to make a butty, for over 20 years without touching the garbage that the Indecent Company turns out. It is only due to the very large number of longstanding customers that sadly still buy Hotpoint & Hoover machines because the old one lasted 15 to 20 years that I have had to prostitute myself repairing this sh**e. However the worm is turning 😉Jim.
