Customer restaurant kitchen. Apparently they had a leak from drain hose and they fitted new drain hose themselves. Then they found machine would not drain so called me in. Filter did have a few bits in which I removed but they had not been stopping the pump. Programmed spin (B) switch on, press start, door locks, motor starts to turn after a short time but pump does not run. Ran pump off flying lead and it runs fine. Plugged meter into disconnected pump terminals and there was 230 – 240v between them right from the start; in fact I think it was there even before I pressed start but don’t hold me to that. So I thought maybe bad connection and plugged them back in firmly but still get no pump action. 😕
Is it possible for there to be insufficient current there even though voltage correct?
Customer says m/c also takes in half a drum of water on starting dry cycle. I didn’t have time to try that.
Didn’t have a lot of time for it today. Have read a few posts about door lock, dryer ntc, motor connector and will be going back to look at those. Just wondered if anyone can explain this one.
Cheers, Mike.
Re: Hpt WDL540G pump won’t operate, though 240v p.d. present
All good advice, thank you both.
Called them just now and said if it’s repairable it is going to take considerable time and even more money so the chef is going to talk to the boss but it looks like I’m out too 😀 .
