this machine fills for a short time then the circ pump cuts in, then theres a click (possibly high pressure switch) then machine stops and then fills again. this goes on repeating until it overfills.
any ideas what to look at first!

Not familiar with this exact machine but I’d try and establish what method the model uses to measure the water present inside the machine. ie pressure chamber + switch or perhaps, like some newer Bosch machines, a metering device which measures water flow directly from the inlet valve.

My first guess would be that dirt has built up somewhere in one of the pressure chambers.

Whenever I see the name Nextra my heart sinks. They nearly always seem to have inscrutable faults. Best thing to do would be check if there’s a reed switch type flow meter and see if connection to it is sound. Failing that you might be looking at a £30 module.
