Just been out to look at this. Machine is 18 months old. Told him to get Hoover out because it’s on the edge of my area and I’ve got enough troubles to deal with. Still just thought I’d run it by you guys see if I’m missing something, what with getting older and everything.
No lights whatsoever. Power reaching door switch but no neutral at door switch. Zero volts present at exit from interference filter so I presume not that. Checked both main board and fascia board but both looked spotless and could feel buttons clicking OK. Checked pump for continuity from board and that was OK too. Pushed ribbon cable connectors to make sure tight but didn’t attempt to unplug them because they always break on me. I’m assuming it’s board but did I miss anything?
Didn’t check brushes except to check that commutator looked clean.
I’m afraid I’ll never know what it was unless I run into the bloke in the street sometime but that’s very unlikely.
    Mike.

Send it to us for test ! It’s quite a common fault. We can normally repair it for £34.90+vat http://www.emwelec.co.uk

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks for the reply.
If I’m suddenly overtaken with an overwhelming desire to get this sorted then I may do that but frankly it’s unlikely. For one thing it’s in a very damp room and I don’t want to guarantee it in such a situation. Also it would mean two more trips to a distant customer. Anyway I’ll remember next time I come across one.
BTW, I could not find this model in your list so maybe you need to update that!
    Mike.
