Hi folks

Would anybody have a Hoover softwave motor tacho magnet I could purchase. Need one reasonably urgent.

Have appealed on the Parts Forum but had no replies – just wondered if i might have a wider audence here

Managed to get hold of an old magnet off a motor to an old pre logic 1100.

Looks physicaly the same apart from a metal disc that they used to fit to these tacho magnets – anyone know if they are interchangeable? – a magnet is a magnet isnt it? or are they different? (I know they can be on the old Hotpoint motors)

Original hasnt the metal disc fitted but I can leave that off but the tacho coils look different but I can leave the original coil on.

Does anyone know if this will fit or is it a suck it and try 🙂

Same physical dimensions then is should be OK. So suck it and see would be the way to go. Meanwhile I’ll hunt around in my junk box when the missus gets back, I’m sure I’ve got one in the garage? (She went out with a mate and has taken the bloody cars keys with her so I can’t shift the motor!!! :rolls: )

Fitted tacho magnet of old 1100 today – left metal disc on as presume it strenghtens the magnetic field from magnet and worked fine.
